Today, as I was driving to work around 6:30 am, the sky caught my eye. Not just the colors, but the fact that I saw a distinct cross in the sky. Something came over me and I just had to take a picture.
Today, as I was driving back from work, around 5:00 pm, I called my husband and he told me his grandmother passed away at 4:00 pm.
We found out on June 12th that Gena (Spence’s grandmother) had a brain tumor and was given 6 months to live. Our wedding was 9 days later; she was unable to make it to see her first and oldest grandchild get married because she was in the hospital. The week we got back from our honeymoon we went to visit her, at that time we were told she had 3 months to live. Two weeks ago we were told within a month. Saturday, after Spence and I moved all of our stuff out of our apartment to move to Tennessee, we went to visit his grandmother. Saturday night she was no longer able to swallow, and by her wishes, she was not put on an IV or feeding tubes. Five days later, she was brought home to her Savoir.
I am always one that looks for signs in things. Maybe I look too hard, but I know this morning, when I had barely waken up and had not drank nearly enough coffee to be driving my 2 1/2 hour commute, God was watching over me, telling me that everything will be okay.
